UNIVERSAL DESIGN
Spaces For All
The Aaron resident was designed to be a child safe environment where the family can continue to not only enhance their creativity but also grow in safety. With both parents working for Disney, the design focuses on bringing in subtle Disney like elements, such as color and interaction to make it both “the happiest place on earth” and a child friendly environment for their three children aged 9, 4 and 1 to grow up in. The flow of the kitchen allows for the parents to cook meals and still keep an eye on their children as they play. The drawer refrigerators teach the children self-sufficiency and the toe kick serves as a pull-out stepstool to allow the kids to reach the sink with ease. The island has both a counter top height and a table height and is surrounded with a chalk board to help expand their creativity. Colors like the green, blue, red and yellow helps achieve that bright and creative side. The quartz rounded edge countertops and the light oak non-slip flooring give the kitchen a timeless space for the family to continue to grow into. All together making it a happy place for the family to cook wholesome meals in and be reassured of their children’s safety.
